Painting for Heroes at Croft!

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

Another round of the BTCC is upon us and I will be painting once again!

This time I will be with Team AON in their hospitality tent painting both their drivers, Tom Onslow-Cole and Tom Chilton.

Once again I will be painting for the Help for Heroes charity, as I did with the TH Motorsport team at Oulton Park.

On the Saturday I will be painting Tom Onslow-Cole on a 40×32 inch canvas followed by a painting of Tom Chilton on the Sunday.

The hospitality tent is located in the paddock area which is open all weekend. Painting will start around 10am on both days.

You will have the chance to win these paintings in a sealed bid auction. I will be collecting bids all weekend with all money raised going to charity. Come along and take a look at the paintings and feel free to ask questions and of course place a bid!

Looking forward to meeting some of you at the weekend. It’s looking like it’s going to be a hot one. Plenty of sun cream required!

British Touring Car Championship, Oulton Park

Friday, June 4th, 2010

This weekend is the Oulton Park round of the BTCC. As previously mentioned (http://motorsportinprint.posterous.com/british-touring-car-championship-oulto… I will be painting this weekend raising money for Help for Heroes.

A limited amount of signed mini prints of Matt Hamilton that will be available to purchase for just £10.

Over the weekend I will be painting two canvases. On Saturday I will be painting a 30×20 inch canvas of Matt racing at Brands Hatch, where he scored his first BTCC points. On Sunday, I will be painting a 40×30 inch canvas, again of Matt but bigger… and a different angle! You will have the opportunity to purchase either of these canvases by sealed bid. You just pop your bid in an envelope, the canvas you would like to bid for… thats it! The highest bid will obviously win!

Along with painting, I will also do some original scribbles of Matt.

The aim of the weekend is to raise as much money as possible for Help for Heroes so please dig deep!

Many of you have been asking about my prints and artwork. This weekend I will not be bringing any of my prints or other artwork. As mentioned, the aim of the weekend is to raise money for Charity. However, this doesn’t mean I don’t want to see you! Please come along and say hello. Feel free to ask questions, purchase Matt Hamilton prints and drawings or just to say ‘hi!’.

I will be located in the paddock area behind garage number 5.

Looking forward to seeing some of you over the weekend!

Press release from Matt Hamilton Racing

After five long weeks, Matt is champing at the bit and raring to go for the next round of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

The meeting takes place at the picturesque Oulton Park circuit in Cheshire on the weekend of 5th / 6th June. It is always one of the best attended meetings of the year, with huge enthusiastic crowds flooding to the circuit from all over the UK.

‘I have only ever driven Oulton Park in single seaters’ said Matt, ‘but it is without doubt one of my favourite circuits. It is not for the faint hearted, and rewards bravery and courage as well as technique.’

In fact, Matt was very close to not making the meeting at all. His search for budget appeared to have come to a dead end, but the situation was rescued from an unusual source.

‘I am very lucky to have built a large number of very enthusiastic fans, thanks mainly to the social networking sites Twitter and Facebook’ relates Matt. ‘I was privileged to enjoy the company of some of these fans at Rockingham and Brands Hatch, and when they heard of my plight, a special couple offered to fund the Oulton Park meeting. I couldn’t believe it…..I was absolutely thrilled. Thank you so much Ben and Lesta Foskett’

Matt will once again be collecting for the Charity ‘Help For Heroes’ at the Pit Lane walkabout, as he has at the three previous meetings. So far, he has raised over £550 for the Charity, as well as giving the charity great exposure by running H4H logos on the car, in the absence of a title sponsor.

Another exciting feature at the Oulton Park meeting, is that the team have as a guest, top motorsport artist Luke Pollard from Motorsportinprint. He will be in the team’s awning producing line drawings of Matt’s car throughout the weekend, and painting a large picture of the car on Sunday in his own inimitable style. Luke will be accessible to all spectators in the paddock who will be able to watch him at work, and he will be happy to discuss his art, and answer any questions. Matt will then sign the drawings, and the painting, and they will be auctioned off in aid of the Help for Heroes Charity.

mark webber - small

Luke Pollard, from Motorsport In Print, was given the unique opportunity to donate some original prints to Wings for Life to help them raise funds for their charity.

Luke produced original prints of the current Red Bull Racing drivers Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber and the superb David Coulthard.

Over the past few months, these prints have all been auctioned off but with a special edition. Each print was signed and dedicated the winner of the auction by the drivers themselves! (more…)
